Meet Travis and Marissa Hake.

Travis is the 7th generation on his family’s Edon, OH farm. He farms alongside his older brother Tyler, father Terry and uncle Jon. Together they raise corn, soybeans, wheat, and alfalfa. They also raise hogs and beef cattle. The farm is diversified and supports 4 families.

Marissa is a veterinarian who has specializes in cattle, and even more specifically in calf care (Click on Dr. Hake - CalfVet above to learn more). She is passionate about communicating on modern agricultural practices and building trust with consumers.

Travis and Marissa have two sons McCoy and Hayes.

In 2019, Travis and Marissa started their British White Park cow herd and then in 2020 the bought a golf course. Yes, a golf course. The unmaintained course has been converted into a grazing pasture for the cows and they have big plans for the golf course clubhouse.

What is Black Label Farms? BLF is a registered herd of British White Park cows, it’s a beef brand, its a learning community of virtual ranchers!
